The CSCS ConstructionSkills Certification scheme was a government initiative administrated through ConstructionSkills to improve quaility workmanship in trades and to reduce accidents in the construction industry by improving the national standard of Health and Safety.
The CSCS gold standard certificate is achieved by companies who have more than 75% of their workforce registered to the CSCS card scheme.
A CSCS card is proof that a person is competent. To obtain a site operative card employees are required to pass the ConstructionSkills Health and Safety Test. For an experienced worker card employees are also required to achieve an N/SVQ Level 2/3. All NEC site workers have either achieved or working towards achieving an SVQ in Roof Sheeting and Cladding.
