From Kirkcaldy follow the A92 North through Glenrothes towards the Tay Bridge and Dundee (go to Step 4).

From St Andrews follow the A91 North to the Tay bridge .

Take a right onto the A919 which then follows onto the A914. Which leads to the A92 across the Tay Bridge .

Across the Tay Bridge follow signs on roundabouts to Arbroath and Broughty Ferry.

Keep to the right hand lane when going through the traffic lights. This will take you past a Matalan on the left hand side and up a hill.

At the next set of traffic lights take a left towards the A92 and Arbroath.

Go straight on at the next round about, then you will approach a 5 exit round about. Take the 4th exit to Arbroath.

You will pass through 2 sets of traffic lights with a Sainburys on the left. This takes you onto the A92 to Arbroath.

When you reach Arbroath, there is a mini-roundabout with a McDonalds on the left, take the 1st exit or left.

Follow the road until you come to a T junction, take a left. At the next T junction take a left again there is a cemetery on your left hand side.

This takes you onto the A933 towards Friockheim and Brechin.

The road will take you past Condor Barracks on your right and through a small village called Colliston.

About 3 miles after Colliston you will come to a crossroads (Leysmill crossroads), marked Leymill to the right and Gardyne to the left. Take the left to Gardyne.

At the next set of crossroads (Gardyne crossroads) take another left.

Just over a hill after the crossroads there is a small stoned narrow road on the right hand side sign posted ‘KNOWES’. Take that right where there are two houses. Come to the 2nd house and the office is the big grey door at the end of the 2nd house.
