ROOFING SPECIALISTS

North East Contracts was founded on the 2nd August 2002 by its current Managing Director John Alexander Lyons. John had been working in the roofing industry for over 30 years and previously as a site coordinator for Gilcomston Construction before it ceased trading. With John's previous experience, reputation and the help of his eldest son Iain the company grew rapidly and on the 31st March 2003 became a Limited company.

In April 2003 his son Christopher joined the company and soon after John's wife Sheila as the company began to grow. Although his daughter Jacqueline had been assisting him ocassionally with administration and advertising it was not until July 2004 that she became a FT employee which meant that John's entire family was working with him as part of North East Contracts Limited.

The company continued to grow and enroled its first trainee's in 2005 and in 2007 with the help of ConstructionSkills and Scottish Building its first Apprentices.

Currently the company has 15 employees and it expects to continue to grow with plans to purchase new premises in 2009 at Kirkton Industrial Estate in Arbroath.
