22 Lade Braes, St Andrews

Client: Taylor & Martin Property Management

Main contractor: Headon Developments https://www.headondev.com/

Products used:  Tata Steel's Catnic Urban standing seam profile in a 0.7mm Prisma coated steel in Alaska Grey Ral 7000, with a cover width of 514mm.

Description: The project at 22 Lade Braes, St Andrews was a new build, flatted development for Headon Developments for which NEC were appointed to install the wall cladding and soffits.

The wall cladding was fitted vertically with vertical seams lining through, floor to floor.  Horizontal joints were introduced where necessary - this was dictated by maximum possible sheet lengths and to allow for ease of installation between scaffold floor levels, on what was an exposed site.

A secret fix soffit plant with the same finish as the Catnic Urban was used on the triangular soffit areas to the balconies - this gave a sharp, neat finish and provided a natural break between the cladding above and below the soffit.

22 Lade Braes is the winner of the Homes for Scotland Awards 2023 in the Small Development category.
