Cromlet Park is a new build housing development project constructed for The Highland Council. The new dwellings were to provide new affordable energy efficient housing to the local area of Invergordon.

Compass Building and Construction Services Ltd appointed us to provide the wall cladding covered areas to the 1st phase of the development. This phase was based on 10 blocks equating to 35 dwellings which varied between detached, semi-detached and flats to suit a varied need and demand.

The design provided by Colin Armstrong Architects in Inverness used the ventilated cladding system to break-up the exterior wall render, giving a modern and high finish to the property exterior. The product specification manufactured by Etex is Cedral. This was installed throughout the development horizontally in the Lap board. The product has a range of colour choices and to add contrast to the blocks the design utilised two colour choice in the range, C77 Pebble Grey and C03 Clay Brown.

The 1600m2 area of Cedral wall cladding covered parts of the elevations on 10 blocks, porches, canopies and site bike shed. The successful installation was achieved through strong coordination with multiple trades and careful management of scaffold access and material handling. Despite challenges related to trade interference and weather conditions, the project was completed efficiently due to our team’s flexibility, precise scheduling, and the splitting of tasks across smaller teams when necessary. Working with the site manager and the other contractors ensured that we could maintain momentum and meet the project’s deadlines while maintaining good safety practice and quality workmanship.

“We completed the 10 blocks over a 7-month period including breaks for weather over the winter. All the trades worked together to keep the project moving, it was a great site to work on.” NEC Installation Team
